We started out the day driving into Custer State Park. Dogs are actually allowed there, so Bernie got a break from the camper. We decided to drive the Wildlife Loop. The scenery is just beautiful.

| Gavin rode with the grandparents, so Bernie enjoyed a window seat for a change. |
There are wild burros that roam the area. They are descendants of the burros that used to bring people and their packs up into the hills and mountains. Most of them are quite fond of visitors, as you can see.

| They tried their best to get to know Grandma P., but she didn't want to come out and play. Notice the new truck, though!! |

We saw another prairie dog town and several deer. Than we came across a herd of bison. These pictures show just a few. The group was quite spread out. Whenever we thought we had come to the end of the herd, it just kept going. Apparently, there was a party going on over at the watering hole, so they were all moving along in an orderly fashion to claim their spots.

Custer State Park is one of my favorite places that we have been so far. We'd love to come back and spend a week just in the park. After the drive, we made a stop at the grocery store, then had a quick lunch before our next adventure.
